Advanced Glitter Tutorial
1. You will need Paint Shop Pro [any version], Animation Shop 3, a silver glitter fill background, and a transparent glitter fill. All the mentioned fills are available on this site.1. Open your silver glitter fill background in AS3. Copy it, and paste it into PSP. Do the same for your transparent fill.
2. Please have at least some knowledge of making glitters, frames, making animations, and the different settings in Paint Shop Pro.
3. Do not copy, steal ,redistribute, or claim this tutorial as your own.
4. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at itz.brittney09[at]gmail.com.
2. In PSP, make a new image...about 500x500. The canvas should be transparent.
3. Now start typing your text for your glitter. Use whatever font, size, how ever many lines, it doesn't matter. Done? Let's move on then.
4. Now, your text should be all done. So let's add an effect to the text so it doesn't look boring. Go to Effects>>3D Effects>>Inner Bevel. Match your settings to mine: click.
5. Copy your glitter text. Press Ctrl + A, then press the delete key on your keyboard. Fill the canvas with the color "black" or #000000. Press Ctrl + Shift + E. Your glitter should now show up on top of the black canvas.
Go to Selections>>Modify>>Expand. The number of pixels should be 1. Now, copy it again. Press Ctrl + A, then press the delete key on your keyboard. Fill the canvas with the color "white" or #ffffff. Press Ctrl + Shift + E. Your glitter should now show up on top of the white canvas. Go to Selections>>Modify>>Expand. The number of pixels should be 2.
Now, copy it again. :) Press Ctrl + A, then the delete key on your keyboard. Press Ctrl + Shift + E. You should see your glitter with a black and white outline. Go to Effects>>3D Effects>>Drop Shadow. Match your settings to mine: click. Does it look like this...with the white outline, black outline, then the drop shadow..: click? If not, you may need to press Ctrl + Z, and go back to figure out what happened. If it does, great!!! Let's move on.
6. Now, here is the actual "glittering" part. Once again, copy the text. Press Ctrl + A & the delete key. Fill the canvas with your silver glitter fill. Don't know where it is? Maybe this will help.. Done?
Remember on the screenie you just looked at to find your fill, I said "click the top part"? Make sure the "bottom part" isn't black. Change it to any color that isn't in your glitter.
Now, press Ctrl + Shift + E. Your glitter should be on top the of the glitter fill. Good. Go to Selections>>Modify>>Expand. The number of pixels should be 3. Now, just like how you found your silver fill...do the same for the clear ones. Find the first frame for the silver fill. Then click on your glitter text. The clear fill should be all over your text like this: clickie click click. Copy the text, then paste it into animation shop. Press Ctrl + Z. The clear fill should now be removed from the text. Now find your 2nd clear fill frame, and do the same. After you paste it into AS3, do the same for your 3rd frame.
7. Now, all your frames should be in AS3. Save it. Mine looked like this:
